1. What Motus Is

Motus is an AI-powered macOS assistant and execution engine. Depending on the features you enable, Motus may:

• Understand voice or text instructions;
• Read information visible on your screen;
• Inspect permitted macOS accessibility information;
• Open, navigate, and interact with applications;
• Type text and use keyboard shortcuts;
• Move or control a secondary visual cursor;
• Search, read, create, rename, move, copy, organize, or trash files;
• Browse websites and retrieve information;
• Run terminal commands and development tools;
• Work across multiple applications;
• Create notes or calendar events;
• Perform multi-step and long-running tasks;
• Remember preferences and context when memory is enabled; and
• Use third-party AI models and service providers to process requests.

Features may differ by plan, location, device, operating-system version, permissions, and release stage.

2. Eligibility

You must be at least 18 years old and legally capable of entering a binding contract to use Motus. If we expressly make the Services available to users under 18, they may use the Services only with verifiable consent and supervision from a parent, guardian, school, or other authorized organization, and subject to any additional terms we provide. You may not use the Services if applicable law prohibits you from doing so.

3. Accounts

Some features require an account. You agree to:

• Provide accurate and current information;
• Maintain the confidentiality of your credentials;
• Use reasonable measures to protect your device and account;
• Not share an individual account with another person;
• Notify us promptly at security@motusai.com if you suspect unauthorized access; and
• Accept responsibility for activity occurring through your account unless caused by our breach of these Terms or applicable law.

4. Device Permissions and User Control

Motus may request macOS permissions such as:

• Microphone access;
• Screen-recording access;
• Accessibility access;
• Automation or Apple Events access;
• File and folder access;
• Calendar, reminders, contacts, photos, or media-library access; and
• Notifications.

You control these permissions through Motus and macOS System Settings. You may revoke permissions at any time, although doing so may disable related functionality. Motus will display a visual or audible indication when it is actively recording audio, capturing a screen, or performing a task.

5. Instructions and Computer Actions

Motus acts based on your instructions, available context, enabled permissions, and its interpretation of your intent. You authorize Motus to perform the actions reasonably necessary to fulfill the requests you submit.

You are responsible for:

• Reviewing your request before submission;
• Ensuring that you have authority to access affected accounts, files, systems, and information;
• Reviewing proposed sensitive or consequential actions;
• Maintaining appropriate backups;
• Monitoring long-running or automated tasks where appropriate; and
• Verifying completed work before relying on it.

Do not instruct Motus to perform an action you would not be legally or contractually permitted to perform yourself.

6. AI Limitations

Motus uses probabilistic artificial-intelligence systems. Outputs and actions may be incomplete, inaccurate, outdated, misleading, or inappropriate for your circumstances. Motus is not a substitute for professional legal, medical, financial, accounting, employment, cybersecurity, or other regulated advice.

7. High-Risk and Prohibited Uses

You may not use Motus to:

• Violate any law, regulation, court order, contract, or third-party right;
• Access a device, account, system, file, or service without authorization;
• Obtain passwords, authentication tokens, private keys, or financial credentials without authorization;
• Deploy malware, ransomware, spyware, credential theft, or unauthorized surveillance;
• Circumvent security controls, rate limits, or protective measures;
• Harass, threaten, exploit, deceive, or unlawfully monitor another person;
• Extract models, system prompts, source code, or proprietary components; or
• Resell, sublicense, or provide unauthorized access to the Services.

8. User Content

“User Content” includes prompts, voice recordings, transcripts, screenshots, screen context, files, code, messages, task instructions, and feedback. As between you and Motus, you retain your ownership rights in User Content. You grant Motus a worldwide, non-exclusive, limited license to host, transmit, and process User Content solely as necessary to provide, secure, and maintain the Services.

9. AI Output and Ownership

To the extent permitted by law and subject to third-party rights, Motus assigns to you any rights we may have in Output generated specifically for you. Because AI systems can generate similar material for different users, Output may not be unique.

10. Subscriptions, Credits, and Payments

Motus offers free, paid, subscription, and credit-based plans. Paid subscriptions renew automatically at the interval shown during checkout unless cancelled before renewal. Included subscription credits reset at the end of each 30-day billing cycle and do not roll over. Instant top-up credit packs remain available until consumed.

11. Disclaimer of Warranties & Limitation of Liability

TO THE MAXIMUM EXTENT PERMITTED BY LAW, THE SERVICES ARE PROVIDED “AS IS” AND “AS AVAILABLE.” MOTUS DISCLAIMS ALL WARRANTIES, EXPRESS OR IMPLIED. OUR AGGREGATE LIABILITY WILL NOT EXCEED THE AMOUNT PAID BY YOU DURING THE 12 MONTHS PRECEDING THE CLAIM OR USD $100.

12. Governing Law and Disputes

These Terms are governed by the laws of the Federal Republic of Nigeria, without regard to conflict-of-law principles. The courts located in Lagos State, Nigeria will have exclusive jurisdiction. Before filing a formal claim, both parties agree to attempt in good faith to resolve disputes by contacting legal@motusai.com.
